High quality dance education. For amateurs and (semi)professionals. Wonderful team of teachers with great know how and incredible passion for dance.

I have been in the professional training at Paris Marais Dance School for two years and I can say a big thank you to Maggie and Ghislain. Thank you Maggie for the pure Graham technique and Ghislain for the classical ballet technique with the Balanchine method. They teach from the heart and that is wonderful. They help us in our dance projects but also in our mental well-being for a better career success. I highly recommend this school.

I highly recommend the Paris Marais Dance School!
After spending a year at the Rudra Béjart school in Switzerland, I joined the professional training in September 2017.I discovered the work of Maggie and Ghislain, two passionate teachers who are very committed to their respective techniques(Graham and classical ballet).
The professional training is very complete and prepares us for an international dance career. Personally, it helps me a lot on a daily basis to progress and develop as an artist, in order to be armed to succeed in auditions. Maggie and Ghislain are very helpful, always caring and the teaching is of a high quality. A big thank you to my teachers for their support and for all the opportunities they have given me!

I had no idea what to expect when I packed my bags and flew from Minnesota to spend 5 months in Paris! My time dancing with PMDS was short, but it was, I kid you not, an experience of a lifetime. I met friends from around the world, discovered my voice as a dancer, and was pushed to my limits. The instructors, Maggie & Ghislain are kindhearted, supportive, and wonderful role models. I noticed growth within myself in those short months, more so than my previous 15 years of dance training.

I just want to express my gratitude towards you, Maggie. You have given and shared so much to your students and the people around you. Having you as my teacher opened mye yes to the endless possibilities in dance. You taught me how to push myself further, go to the extremes. Thank you for being there to trust me, to make mistakes and to learn from them. Anyone who has been taught by you must be truly lucky.

Having had lots of personalharsh experiences with professional ballet education, I can say wholeheartedly that the Paris Marais Dance School is a refreshing relief. Their combination ofseveral techniques in their professional training programs i.e. Martha Graham by Maggie Boogaart and neo-classical ballet (Balanchine) by Ghislain deCompreignac are taught by them and other professional recognized teachers who all had professional careers on intensive workshop. The atmosphere in their school is enthousiastic and passionate, and so are their students who feel supported intheir strengths and unique qualities. I have witnessed the amazing result of their Summer school, unbelievable what they achieved with these young dancers! Very much recommended for professional as well as amateur dance educations.

Maggie's classes de Graham and Ghislain's classes de classique Balanchine are very complete, in terms of technique, musicality and attention to stage presence. They listen carefully and give very accurate, personalized advice. They are classes of the highest quality, with a working atmosphere, passion and good humor.

As parents of students at PMDS, we would like to express our satisfaction with various aspects of the school's pedagogical approach:
- A studied mix of attentiveness, humanity and high standards - Dual teaching (classical "Balanchine" and contemporary "Martha Graham") that is both comprehensive and effective, and open to other dance techniques and several other subjects.
- A genuine "preparatory class" for "entrance exams" to dance companies, tailored to each student's individual needs. Genuine "preparatory class" for dance company "entrance exams" tailored to each student.
- A school of life as much as a school of dance, PMDS equips students well for their possible future life as professional dancers - High-quality teaching provided by teachers who are passionate about their art and their project.

Maggie Boogaart and Ghislain de Compreignac are two of the world's leading dance educators, offering a curriculum based on Graham technique and classical ballet. The school favors the experience of public performance, and offers its students the opportunity to appear on stage (repertoire, creation, performance...) as often as possible. I was part of the school's first graduating class and have fond memories of my two years at the Paris Marais Dance School. Each dancer is unique. Maggie and Ghislain accompany them in the intimate work of paying attention to themselves, while giving them the technical tools to become dancers capable of adapting to all choreographic styles. Today, I'm a professional dancer, dance teacher and choreographer, and I highly recommend Paris Marais dance School to dancers wishing to become professional dancers. A demanding and deeply human school.

For my part, I'm very satisfied with PMDS's Professional Dancer Training.
The school, which specializes in classical ballet and Graham technique, also offers a wide range of other techniques (such as Cunningham, floor release and contact-improvisation) that really enable me to blossom in my personal dancing and develop my technique!
I also recommend the school for the attentiveness of its teachers, who guide us throughout the year on both a physical and mental level.
Thanks to Maggie and Ghislain for their kindness and the passion with which they teach!

Teachers who are attentive to all their students, positive and very knowledgeable in their field, and who pass on American techniques, which are difficult to find in France.
This school is therefore a reference for my continuing education as a professional dancer.

I've been training in Paris Marais Dance School since 2010. I've followed ballet classes with Ghislain de Compreignac and contemporary dance Martha Graham Technique with Maggie Boogaart as long with floor barre contemporaine and improvisation. Im very happy withmy training. I've got an advanced level in the first year and felt my technique offered to me freedom on intensive workshop and in life and also new ways of expression of my body. The teachers are really great, perfect pedagogy, passionate and very implicated with every student. All of their students of their professional training gets a job in great companies, some of them in companies in UK and USA. They also offered plenty of grants to study in Martha Graham School inNYC. I think with no doubt this is the best Dance school in Paris! Muchas Gracias Maggie & Ghislain!

"Just as I was about to quit dancing, I met Maggie and she introduced me to the Graham technique. It was something new and incredible, I wanted to dance again. I took classes with Maggie in Paris for 2 years, and also danced in her wonderful choreographies "Passion" and "Flammes de Paris". Thanks to Maggie for this great breakthrough, it's thanks to her that I arrived at the Martha Graham School of Contemporary Dance in New York! "

"What would we do without such a great teacher? Maggie's classes are technical!(one of the most complete I know) and I love it! As she always says, Maggie prepares us for a career as solo dancers, not for the corps de ballet!!!! Maggie is demanding but fair. These classes classes aren't just for relaxing, they're for working the whole body, not forgetting the mind, memorization and "soul".

With Maggie, we become better (a better dancer and a better person). There's always joy, humor, sharing and humanity in her classes. We work hard but the atmosphere is always pleasant, and Maggie is very respectful of her students. Maggie is unique, and she makes you realize that you are too. Little by little, you gain self-confidence, you let go, you are transformed and you leave her classes with only one desire: to go back! Maggie is a great teacher who pushes you to go beyond your limits! With the Graham technique, I discovered a dance that suits me, a dance that comes from the heart and soul, an organic dance where every movement seems to have something to say, every movement seems to tell a story".

"Maggie Boogaart teaches the Martha Graham technique with passion! Through her professionalism, her high standards, and through this technique, she gives an energy that pushes forward and forces one to go deep inside to find authenticity. Her rigor is expressed with kindness and great respect, which I greatly appreciated. Thank you Maggie for your generosity and your precious advice !!!! "

"I followed Maggie's classes from January 2010 to June 2012. At first, after having stopped dancing for a year, I came to live my passion. But in the classes advanced classes, Maggie was very demanding and passed on her love of Graham technique to me. Not only did I decide to continue dancing professionally, I also decided to go to the Graham School in NYC. Thanks to Maggie's advice, her many images at classes and her determination, I landed a scholarship for the 2011 Summer Intensive, following an audition with the Graham School director. A year later, in September 2012, I joined the Graham School in New York (then the Junior Company). Maggie brings her energy and enthusiasm to the studio every day and strives to rigorously share the incredible Graham technique. I thank her and encourage many dancers to follow her classes."
