For adults and teenagers aged 15 and over, all our classes classes focus on the pleasure of dancing, fluidity of movement, improved posture and self-confidence.

Participants come with different objectives: physical and artistic practice, improving their skills, loosening up, finding a balance with work, expressing themselves, making friends...

                

All classes are open to all, without reservation. Subscriptions, cards, classes .

Classes continue :
- 1st week of school vacations: Mondays at 12:30 pm Yoga-Pilates, every classes from 7:30 pm, Saturdays at 10 am.
- 2nd week: Thursdays 6:30 pm floor barre and restorative movement.

The other classes sites are not open during school vacations.

Outfit

Classical dance

  •  All outfits must be solid color with no printed designs.
     
  • Women : academic or tights and leotard, ½ booties pointes or pointes, bun, short plain skirt.
    No underwear: leotards reinforced at the upper bust are preferred; sports bra only if necessary.
    No or light make-up. No jewelry (watches, bracelets, rings, necklaces, pendants).
  • Men : gray or black academic or tights, white leotard, ½" slippers pointes to match tights. Long hair tied back.
    Boys' underwear: kit/dance belt (Bloch brand, thick), mandatory for all classes, rehearsals, shows.

Contemporary dance + floor barre contemporary and classical

  • Women : academic or footless tights, leotard, bun.
    No underwear: favor leotards reinforced at the top of the bust; only if necessary, sports bra.
    No make-up, or light make-up. No jewelry (watches, bracelets, rings, necklaces, pendants).
  • Men : academic or footless tights, leotard. Long hair tied back.
    Underwear: kit/dance belt (Bloch or WearMoi brand, thick), mandatory for all classes, rehearsals, shows.
  •  All outfits must be plain, with no printed designs.

Warm-up clothes

  • All warm-up clothes (woolen tights, jacket, cross-over, etc.) must be tight-fitting, close to the body (no tracksuits allowed).
  • Please start classes in a suitable outfit that allows for corrections: tights, leotard, academic, slippers.
  • warm clothes between sessions classes are imperative to keep your muscles warm and continue developing your flexibility.

Practical information

Please remove your shoes on entering.

There are shelves near the staircase for storing your shoes.

Separate men's and women's changing rooms and toilets:
- changing room women: bottom right of staircase
- changing room men: ground floor, right as you enter.

You can leave all your belongings in the changing rooms, so there's no need to clutter up the studios. Your belongings are safe there.

Annual subscriptions - find out more

Subscription is the recommended formula, encouraging regularity and progress.
It involves enrolling for the whole year in the same classes, with a fixed day and time.
Subscriptions are taken out for the period from September to June, according to the school's timetable, and in year classes until the end of June.
It is possible to make up for a lost classes by taking another classes

Children and Teens:
> Only on annual subscription.
> 1 week out of 2 formula: ask for the 50% discount code at contact@pmds.fr
Medical certificate required (every year), to be submitted before the end of September.

Adults:
3 possible formulas:

> Subscription (recommended): priority access to classes, permanent or occasional discounts. The most economical.
> Cards for 5, 10 or 20 classes, valid for 4 months on all classes, all disciplines. The most flexible.
> Single classes.

Children and teens: free all year> Adults: same rate as normal classes (free in September). Come to the classes of your choice, WITHOUT RESERVATION.

On sale on site: leotards (18€), tights (12€) and slippers (18€).

> Classes from 45mn to 1h: 460€/year. For 3 and 12 year olds
> 1h30 class. Teen and adult classes
- without classes during school vacations (35 weeks): 590€/year. This applies to 18h weekday classes .
- with classes during the 1st week of school vacations, except Christmas (38 weeks): 650€/year. This applies to classes at 12:30 and 7:30 pm on weekdays and at 10 am on Saturdays.


‍Multiplesubscriptions- Additional classes

can also subscribe to several additional classes per week; you then benefit from progressive discounts on the basic subscription rate.
- 1st classes: The rate is displayed directly when you order (e.g.: 460€ for a 1h classes )
- 2nd classes: discount of 60€
- 3rd classes: discount of 80€
- 4th classes: discount of 100€
- 5th classes: discount of 120€.

's still possible to sign up for year classes , paying only for upcoming months until the end of June. When registering online, simply choose the yearly subscription formula, then on a subsequent screen choose the pro rata reduction for the year in classes. the deduction for previous months is automatically offered.

‍Reductions, on subscriptions only

20% reduction is offered to intermittents, jobseekers, parents of families with 4 or more children, families with 2 enrolled in our classes.
When registering online, simply choose the annual subscription formula, then on a subsequent screen choose the "Students, Families, Intermittents, Jobseekers" reduction. Proof of entitlement is required.

‍Feesde dossier:45 €.
Mandatory once a year, for any subscription, card or intensive workshop (10% discount in dance stores in Paris).
Includes membership of the Association des amis de Paris Marais Dance School (10€).

‍Medicalcertificate:
‍Minors
-18 years; compulsory, every year, to be submitted before the end of September. Not required when registering online.
Adults: no medical certificate, or on request from the instructor.

2024-2025 - When are there STAGES?

Courses are scheduled during all school vacations.

Please consult the section TRAINING of this site.

Do I need to give notice of absence?

YES if the participant is a minor, please notify the teacher directly on the classes whatsapp group.

NO if the participant is over 18. If you can't come on the scheduled day, you can choose another day or time to replace it, as long as it's roughly the same level.

> All persons entering the premises (participants, children, parents) are asked to remove their shoes at the entrance and to leave their shoes, coat or umbrella where indicated.

> We recommend that you leave your bag at changing room, so that you don't need to bring anything into the dance studio.

2024-2025 - What are your closing days and public holidays?

Outside of school vacations, PMDS is open every day from Monday to Sunday.

PMDS is closed:

- all public holidays, except during training courses

- Ascension Day (Thursday to Sunday inclusive).

School vacations :

Regular annual classes do not take place during zone C school vacations
5-day courses from Monday to Friday are scheduled for all vacations.

What should you wear to your first classes (children and adults)?

A t-shirt, leggings, socks.

- classical ballet : preferably half ballet slipperspointes .

- contemporary dance, floor barre : barefoot.

You can then purchase an outfit that is more in line with regular practice, listed on the Outfits page.

Do I need a medical certificate?

‍Forchildren and teenagers, a medical certificate is required every year for annual registration, even in classes year. The medical certificate must be provided within one month of online registration.
For courses, the certificate is not required.

For adults, no medical certificate is required.

Regardless of classes or the age of the participant, the instructor may request a medical certificate if he or she deems it necessary.

How to find your level?

If you are a complete beginner or an experienced person, the question does not arise:

- beginner 1e classes Initiation 1 year

- beginner : 2 to 4 years of practice after the age of 8

- confirmed / advanced : + 6 to 8 years of practice after the age of 8

If you have an intermediate level but haven't danced for a long time, no problem, you choose the level you want (beginner, intermediate or beginner/medium) and readjust if necessary.

classical ballet You can present yourself at the level you usually take. Then you will adjust if necessary.

Contemporary-Graham: It is imperative to start with the fundamental techniqueand first of all, floor barre classes with Maggie Boogaart.
For the intermediate level: you must have done all the preparation necessary to be able to do the turns around the back (including "going to the elbow") and at least the first 3 developments of "back leg extension" and "exercise on six" (complete).
For the advanced level: at the teacher's invitation. You must be able to do all 6 "back leg extension" developments, a pitch turn, and a raised "tilt" in balance.

How can I subscribe to classes ?

Subscriptions can only be taken online on this same site. From the button at the top of the page, choose the teacher, then Annual Activities.

How can I subscribe to several classes ?

For the 1st classes , choose "1st classes".

For the 2nd weekly classes , use the "add a classes" button, then choose "2nd classes". 60€ discount will be deducted automatically.

For the 3rd classes , use the "add a classes" button, then choose "3rd classes". 80€ discount will be deducted automatically.

For the 4th classes and following, use the "add a classes" button, then choose "4th classes", then "5th classes" .... 80€ discount will be deducted automatically.

Can I pay in installments?

You can pay in 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 10 times for subscriptions.

You can pay in 1, 2, 3 or 4 times for the cards.

A schedule is provided during the registration process.

The withdrawals are made on successive months.

Is it true that you can pay up to 10 times?

It's true, you can pay up to 10 times for subscriptions taken out in September and October.
