Alberto BARLETTA (IT)

Training / Career

From Milan's Scala School and M.A.S. (Music, Arts & Show) to New York's Alvin Ailey School, Alberto BARLETTA's training has focused on Modern-Jazz, Contemporary and classical ballet.
His repertoire ranges from the great classics to more contemporary works by Rudolf Nureyev, Georges Balanchine, Angelin Preljocaj and Maurice Béjart.
As a dancer, he has worked with numerous choreographers including Mia Michaels, William Forsythe and many others. He has also danced in various dance companies in France and abroad: Paris, Lyon, New York, Los Angeles. As a teacher, he works in France and abroad in various schools and companies. He is also a judge in various national and international dance competitions. Today, he continues to share his universe, dancing and choreographing for various shows.

Alberto's class of Modern-Fusion

Alberto Barletta sees teaching as the development of the student, a blossoming process that makes use of each individual's uniqueness and characteristics, guiding students towards a well-defined universe.
In modern expression, his work is based on the fundamentals of contemporary dance. By learning from the many dance experiences of different cultures, he has developed a dance style that fuses several elements. This fusion blends technical and choreographic elements of contemporary and modern dance with a more sensitive interpretation of movement. This universe enables students to express themselves in greater depth, writing their own body language and giving rise to their own emotions and creativity.

Alberto at class improvisation

The improvisation workshop is a place of guided research where students explore, create and refine their perception and the accuracy of their gestures, in order to get closer to their expressive intentions and interpretive aspirations. Improvisation is also a time for learning how to look at others, read, identify, name and glimpse the diversity of approaches. In improvisation, whether individual or collective, targeted instructions open up the possibilities for each individual to find his or her own creativity and imagination.

My workshop revolves around 4 lines of research: body states, so that vocabulary diversifies and interpretation asserts itself; notions of themes and development in improvisation and composition; encounters; and finally, shared practice around well-defined projects.
