High quality dance education. For amateurs and (semi)professionals. Wonderful team of teachers with great know how and incredible passion for dance.

I have been part of the professional training program at Paris Marais Dance School for two years now, and I want to express my sincere thanks to Maggie and Ghislain. Thank you, Maggie, for the pure Graham technique, and Ghislain for the Classical technique with the Balanchine method. They teach with passion, and it's wonderful. They help us with our dance projects and also with our mental well-being for a more successful career. I highly recommend this school.

I highly recommend the Paris Marais Dance School professional training program!
After spending a year at the Rudra Béjart school in Switzerland, I joined the professional training program in September 2017. I discovered the work of Maggie and Ghislain, two passionate teachers deeply committed to their respective techniques (Graham and Classical).
The professional training is very comprehensive and prepares us for an international dance career. Personally, it helps me immensely every day to progress and develop as an artist, equipping me to succeed in auditions. Maggie and Ghislain are invaluable, always supportive, and the teaching is of high quality. A big thank you to my teachers for their support and for all the opportunities they have offered me!

I am so grateful towards my teachers Maggie Boogaart and Ghislain de Compreignac, I have been training in the professional training program since September 2019 and I think this is an amazing school that can help you improve your technique in classical Ballet, Martha Graham and pas de deux, increase stamina, strength, flexibility, musicality as well as develop artistry and passion for dance.

Thank you so much to the directors of the school Mrs. Maggie Boogaart and Mr. Ghislain de Compreignac for giving me the scholarship for professional training program. Since I joined the PMDS my body is changing (improving). The level of training is very high with lots of different styles and exposure. Best recommend school to join. The teachers are very inspiring, nice and taking care of each and every student. They are helping me not just to be a good dancer also a good person. 💪🏼✨🙌🏼

I had no idea what to expect when I packed my bags and flew from Minnesota to spend 5 months in Paris! My time dancing with PMDS was short, but it was, I kid you not, an experience of a lifetime. I met friends from around the world, discovered my voice as a dancer, and was pushed to my limits. The instructors, Maggie & Ghislain, are kindhearted, supportive, and wonderful role models. I noticed growth within myself in those short months, more so than my previous 15 years of dance training.

I just want to express my gratitude towards you, Maggie. You have given and shared so much to your students and the people around you. Having you as my teacher opened mye yes to the endless possibilities in dance. You taught me how to push myself further, go to the extrêmes. Thank you for being there to trust me, to make mistakes and to learn from them. Anyone who has been taught by you must be truly lucky.

Having had many harsh personal experiences with professional ballet education, I can wholeheartedly say that the Paris Marais Dance School is a refreshing relief. Their combination of several techniques in their professional training programs, i.e., Martha Graham by Maggie Boogaart and neo-classical ballet (Balanchine) by Ghislain de Compreignac, are taught by them and other professionally recognized teachers who all had professional careers in intensive workshop. The atmosphere in their school is enthusiastic and passionate, and so are their students, who feel supported in their strengths and unique qualities. I have witnessed the amazing results of their summer school; it's unbelievable what they have achieved with these young dancers! Highly recommended for both professional and amateur dance education.

It is my final year within the professional training program here at this school and I can attest thateach professor here is passionate about teaching and guiding their students to ensure that they reach their full potential. It is also the responsibility ofthe student to be fully open to learning, giving it their best, and trustingthe process. This school can help transform any aspiring dancer reach their goals.

classes Maggie and Ghislain's classes Balanchine classes are very comprehensive, covering technique, musicality, and attention to stage presence. They are very attentive and give very accurate and personalized advice. These are classes with a great working atmosphere, always filled with passion and good humor.

As parents of a student, we wish to express our satisfaction regarding various aspects of the pedagogical approach developed at PMDS:
- A thoughtful blend of attentiveness, humanity, and high standards.- A very comprehensive and effective dual instruction (classical "Balanchine" and contemporary "Martha Graham"), as well as being open to other dance techniques and several other subjects.
- A true "prep class" for "entrance auditions" into dance companies, tailored to each student.
- A school of life as much as a dance school, PMDS well-equips students for their potential future lives as professional dancers.- High-quality instruction provided by teachers passionate about their art and their project.

Maggie Boogaart and Ghislain de Compreignac are two renowned teachers who offer a dance training program based on the Graham technique and classical ballet. The school emphasizes public performance experience and offers its students the opportunity to perform on stage (repertoire, creation, performance, etc.) as often as possible. I was part of the school's first graduating class and have fond memories of my two years at the Paris Marais Dance School. Every dancer is unique. Maggie and Ghislain guide them in the intimate work of self-awareness while giving them the technical tools to become dancers capable of adapting to all choreographic styles. Today, I am a professional dancer, dance teacher, and choreographer, and I highly recommend that dancers who want to become professionals try the Paris Marais Dance School. It is a demanding and deeply human school.

For my part, I am very satisfied with the Professional Dancer Training Program at PMDS.
The school, specializing in classical and Graham technique, also offers a wide range of other techniques (such as Cunningham, floor release, and contact improvisation) which truly allow me to flourish in my personal dance and develop my technique!
I also recommend the school for the attentiveness of the teachers, who guide us throughout the year physically and mentally.
Thank you to Maggie and Ghislain for their kindness and the passion with which they teach!

Caring teachers for all their students, positive and highly skilled in their field, who transmit American techniques to us, which are difficult to find in France.
As such, this school is a benchmark for my ongoing professional dancer training.

I have been training at Paris Marais Dance School since 2010. I have taken ballet classes with Ghislain de Compreignac and contemporary dance Martha Graham Technique with Maggie Boogaart, as well as floor barre and improvisation. I am very happy with my training. I reached an advanced level in the first year and felt that my technique gave me freedom in intensive workshop in life, as well as new ways of expressing myself physically. The teachers are really great, perfect pedagogy, passionate, and very involved with every student. All of their students from their professional training get jobs in great companies, some of them in companies in the UK and USA. They also offer plenty of grants to study at the Martha Graham School in NYC. I think without a doubt this is the best dance school in Paris! Muchas Gracias Maggie & Ghislain!

“Just as I was about to give up dancing, I met Maggie, and she introduced me to the Graham technique. It was something new and incredible, and it made me want to dance again. I took classes Maggie in Paris for two years, and I also danced in her wonderful choreographies “Passion” and “Flammes de Paris.” Thanks to Maggie for this great step forward. It's thanks to her that I ended up at the Martha Graham School of Contemporary Dance in New York!"

"What would we do without such an amazing teacher? classes are technical (some of the most comprehensive I know) and I love that! As she always says, Maggie prepares us for a career as solo dancers, not as part of the corps de ballet!" Maggie is demanding but fair. These classes are classes for resting; we work our whole bodies without forgetting our minds, our memory, and our "soul."

With Maggie, you become better (a better dancer and a better person). There is always joy, humor, sharing, and humanity in her classes. We work hard but in a consistently pleasant atmosphere, and Maggie is very respectful of her students. Maggie is unique, and she makes you understand that you are too. Little by little, you gain confidence, let go, transform yourself, and leave her classes only one desire: to return! Maggie is a great teacher who pushes you to go beyond your limits! With the Graham technique, I discovered a dance that suits me, a dance that comes from the heart and soul, an organic dance where every movement seems to have something to say, every movement seems to tell a story.

« Maggie Boogaart teaches the Martha Graham technique with passion! Through her professionalism, high standards, and this technique, she imparts an energy that drives one forward and compels one to seek authenticity deep within oneself. Her rigor is expressed with kindness and great respect, which I greatly appreciated. Thank you, Maggie, for your generosity and invaluable advice!!!! »

I took classes from January 2010 to June 2012. At first, I came to live out my passion after having stopped dancing for a year. But in the classes , Maggie was very demanding and passed on her love of the Graham technique to me. I not only decided to continue dancing professionally, but also to attend the Graham School in NYC. Thanks to Maggie's advice, the many images she provides in classes her determination, I won a scholarship for the 2011 Summer Intensive after auditioning with the director of the Graham School. A year later, in September 2012, I joined the Graham School in New York (and then the junior company). Maggie brings her energy and enthusiasm to the studio every day and strives to rigorously share the incredible Graham technique. I thank her and encourage many dancers to take her classes
