Since 2012, Maggie Boogaart and Ghislain de Compreignac have annually supported several talented dancers from underprivileged backgrounds through their private budget, providing scholarships for the Paris Marais Dance School's professional training program.
Thanks to their support, these young individuals, who otherwise would not have had the opportunity to develop their dancing talent, have embarked on professional careers with internationally renowned dance companies such as Ballet Rambert (UK), Ballet National de Marseille (FR), Europa Ballet (AT), and more. After their stage careers, they will be able to pursue lifelong professions such as dance teacher, ballet master, or choreographer.
However, other talents, selected during international competitions, were unable to seize this opportunity because they could not finance their plane ticket or their stay in Paris.
To continue this mission, the Association des Amis de Paris Marais Dance School aims to gather patrons to fund scholarships for the Paris Marais Dance School's professional training program, including accommodation in Paris and audition travel for dance companies. These scholarships are intended for young talents aged 16 to 23 of all nationalities who would not be able to succeed without financial assistance. The cost of studies is €9,000 per year, and the cost of living in Paris for a scholarship recipient without family support is approximately €15,000 per year. The full support for a young talent for one year is €24,000.
